PONTIAC – Illinois State Police District 6 will be assisting Ameren in the temporary closure of northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 55 at mile post 170 near Towanda at 11 a.m. Friday.
The duration of lane closures are expected to be approximately 15 to 20 minutes in order to repair a power line. A suggested detour for local traffic is to use Old U.S. Route 66 between Normal and Lexington.
