BLOOMINGTON – Accused murderer Kirk Zimmerman’s bond has been reduced.
Zimmerman is charged with first degree murder for the death of his ex-wife, Pamela Zimmerman, who was found shot to death in her office in November 2014. Kirk was arrested July.
During a hearing in McLean County Court Monday, Kirk’s attorney John Rogers argued the $5 million bond originally set by the state was too high. Rogers asked for bond to be reduced to $1 million. Judge Drazewski agreed bond was too high, but only reduced the amount to $2 million.
Kirk’s three children spoke in court Monday, saying they all wish to have him home. If bond is posted, Kirk would only be allowed to leave his home for medical and legal purposes.
