BLOOMINGTON – Toys for Tots of McLean County wants your help providing Christmas presents for less-fortunate children this year.
Local organizer Troy Zeigler said there will be 127 boxes around the county this year to drop off toys.
“It’s all community-based,” Zeigler said. “Everything that’s raised in McLean County stays here in McLean County.”
Zeigler told WJBC’s Terry James on Thursday that the charity will need a lot of help this year, especially with the loss of Mitsubishi Motors, a major contributor to Toys for Tots.
“Not only just Toys for Tots but the other non-profits that aren’t advertised as well, we’re going to miss them a lot,” Zeigler said.
Zeigler said Mitsubishi has given hundreds of thousands dollars to Toys for Tots since it started in McLean County.
The toy campaign kicks off this Saturday at the Moose Lodge in Bloomington. Zeigler said Toys for Tots is hoping to serve more than 5,000 children this season.
