BLOOMINGTON – A LeRoy man accused of hitting his girlfriend with his car has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
Edward Kivlehan, 39, has been sentenced to a month in jail and then 18 months of conditional discharge. He faced a more serious felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury, but that charge was dropped in the plea deal.
According to police reports, Kivlehan was arguing with his girlfriend inside his car in November of last year. Then, the girlfriend left the car and Kivlehan hit her. Kivlehan was also accused of yelling at the victim for breaking his side-mirror.
