Fire heavily damaged a Bloomington residence early this morning.
Firefighters say they received the call before 1:30 a.m. and found fire through the roof of the home at 2408 Driftwood Road in northeast Bloomington. The residents including two adults and four children were outside the home when crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
The fire was brought under control within an hour with assistance from Normal firefighters. Heavy fire damage to the second floor and severe water damage to the first floor and basement totaling an estimated $200,000 was reported.
The American Red Cross is assisting the residents. The fire is under investigation.
