BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Clerk’s office is holding voter registration drives this weekend and next at two area churches.
County Clerk Kathy Michael said volunteers will be on hand to register voters at Epiphany Church in Normal from 3:45 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
“In my optimistic way, I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, this is great, but we’re not going to have the staff to meet the commitments I wanted to meet,’” said Michael. “The League of Women Voters, as the usually do, readily agreed to help us and send some volunteers out.”
Next weekend’s registration drive will be at Heartland Community Church on Jan. 23 from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. and Jan. 24 from 10:15 a.m. to noon.
Residents will be able to fill out voter registration forms or take the forms home and mail, fax, or email them to her office.
